JAKE CHAPPELOW

CEO / FOUNDER

Jake envisioned the development of a local restaurant group founded upon key principles of integrity and innovation with a passionate desire to put the customer experience first. With an extensive background in the industry, Jake’s unwavering determination and no-nonsense approach helped to pave the way for the Local Pub Company. Local Pub Company now encompasses three restaurant concepts which include both Burg & Barrel locations, Stagecoach Tavern, and two private event spaces. Jake resides locally with his wife, Mandy, and three children in Lenexa, Kansas.

MANDY CHAPPELOW

CFO / FOUNDER

Mandy first established herself in the service industry at Jerry's Bait Shop, a popular live music venue in Lenexa. She quickly moved from serving to bartending and then to managing in an astonishingly short time frame. After moving to Lee's Summit to operate a new store, she found herself ready for the next step in her career. She opened her own bar in the Crossroads District of downtown Kansas City. Shortly after, she teamed up with Jake and together they created the Burg & Barrel concept. Mandy's original vision has been successfully translated into each location marked by excellent customer service, dynamic menus, and signature craft beverages.

ULISES MUNOZ

BURG & BARREL EXECUTIVE CHEF

Ulises has always been involved in the restaurant industry and has worked in various restaurant kitchens in both Kansas and Missouri. As the Executive Chef for Burg & Barrel, he oversees kitchen operations for all locations.  Ulises’ passionate commitment to excellence carries through in his fine eye for detail and commitment to quality. His rapid ability to organize and mobilize kitchen staff makes him a valued and respected leader in the industry. A true visionary, he is thorough in his assessment of quality and proficiency.

BLAIR CRAGG

Blair has been in the restaurant industry for six years.  He quickly transitioned into upper management by adopting a servant-leadership mentality and exemplary customer service skills. He is passionate about Kansas City small business and craft beer, incorporating his knowledge of both to market innovative strategies for brand loyalty and guest satisfaction. In his free time, Blair is involved with the Kansas City film scene and has worked on various short films and music videos. He hosts a monthly horror movie event at a local theater. He lives in midtown Kansas City and is engaged to be married in 2020.

ANTON HOPKINS

BAR MANAGER OVERLAND PARK

Originally from Shawnee, and for the last 16 years, Anton has been working in restaurants in Manhattan, KS as a bartender and manager. Once he had established a strong foundation inefficiency and volume in MHK, Anton relocated to Overland Park, where he continued to both grow his experience and nurture his passion. He is an avid fan of the K-State Wildcats, Royals and of course the Chiefs! On his off time, he enjoys hitting the links and wetting his beak in a full-bodied IPA for a perfect little vacation. 

HALEY RHODES

EVENTS & CATERING MANAGER

Haley has been in the service industry for over ten years. She was introduced to restaurants as a hostess at the early age of 16. Understanding restaurants came naturally to her and she began to master all positions in her thirst to know more of the industry.  Haley is passionate about the business, particularly mentoring the staff and connecting with our patrons. She loves the variety of each day in the service industry and conquering every obstacle she encounters.

NICK CARPENTER

Nick brought a passion for the service industry when he moved to Kansas City in 2008.  In Kansas City, Nick has been featured several times as a leader for growth and innovation in the beer culture.  Nick came to Burg and Barrel with over 22 years of experience, a passion for training, and commitment to excellent service.  He enjoys chatting with guests and helping others find their new favorite beer. In his off time, Nick enjoys time with his friends and family while hunting for his newest favorite beer.

JD BROWN

BAR MANAGER LEAWOOD

JD has worked in restaurants since high school and has worked in every type of concept from hotels to fast food. He met his wife, Keiko in high school too! He has 2 daughters Jun and Aya and when he is not courtside at a volleyball game with Aya, he loves to meet up with friends who also share a passion for craft beer or looking for a beer to add to his collection.

MEGAN SOLOMON

MANAGER

Megan began her career in the service industry five years ago.  She started as a server but worked her way up to lead bartender and keyholder with her combination of craft beer knowledge and top-tier hospitality.  Her ability to connect with our guests and make them laugh is unmatched.  Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her dogs and experimenting in the kitchen.

JENYCE SPENCE

In the wake of graduating from college with her degree in business, Jenyce started off in sales. She dabbled in business to business, car, and insurance. She entered the restaurant industry as a server. The combination of her excellent work ethic and outgoing personality, she was quickly promoted to the bar and management. She has found a home at Burg and Barrel and is continually growing her passion for the restaurant business.
